The highly-anticipated mixtape by Baltimore hip-hop recording artist Tate Kobang drops at midnight! I had the opportunity to discuss what we can all look forward to and found it to be one of the most intimate conversations we’ve shared thus far. The mood of this project gives insight into specific moments he’s encountered as an artist and regular person. When asked what the vibe of the mixtape is he humbly replied, “it’s good music mixed with pain and real life.” Overall his goal is to touch the average person with a mental and spiritual connection to his experiences.

Tate proclaims his mixtape “Live Hazey” as the most personal compilation of music he’s ever done, but that “Silent Waves” embodies the turning points in his life and represents his personal progress. He didn’t have a standout favorite track because they are actual depictions of who he is, although right now “Yeah” is one of my favorites. He is so proud of his work that he is willing to make hard copies and just give them away. I am looking forward to hearing his newest work in its entirety and you can too by going to It is hosted by DTLR Radio Personality and Shy Glizzy Tour DJ, Flow

He eagerly anticipates the release of his newest work and boyishly referenced tomorrow as a guaranteed good day because the new “Power Rangers” movie and Kevin Gates are being released as well. When asked what “Silent Waves” means he modestly responded that, “rock bottom isn’t the end always…sometimes it’s the start. Just keep pushing and praying.”
