The Nike Air Foamposite Pro Hyper Cobalt brings back the most popular colorway with a new leather eyestay feature.
Foamheads get ready for the Hyper Cobalt colorway of the Nike Air Foamposite Pro.
Originally a Ben Gordon exclusive, blue/ black and its sibling red/ black have gotten a new jewel Swoosh and are being released to the public. The blue is set to release on August 25th, 2016.
Any Foamposite with a blue/ black coloway acknowledges the original single colrway release in 1997, “Royal” Foamposite Air One, that debuted with Penny Hardaway and started the Foamposite trend. The 2001 Royal Blue mimicked the iconic original and was the first Foamposite to retro, restarting the Foamposite hype.
This release combines the most popular Royal blue/ black colorway with the leather eyestays from a PE Ben Gordon. This release is hyped as a sequel of sorts to the Gordon colorway. The actual colors pay tribute to his college basketball career more than his stint at the NBA and are modeled after the Foamposites Nike gifted him when he entered the NBA.
To summarize: True to the original Foamposite, and the original Gordon PE, the Hyper Cobalt is a simple two color mashup of blue and black. The Hyper Cobalt color covers the shell and outsole. That blue is then highlighted with black laces, tongue and swoosh. Finally, the black eyestays furthers the shoe’s appeal with their leather construction.
