The Metro Youth Advisory Council held their April monthly meeting at the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority with Radio Personalities Deja Perez (93.9 WKYS and DTLR Radio) and Comedian Ty Davis (DTLR Radio, The Franchise Movement Show). Metro YAC encourages teens between the ages of 14-19 to discuss issues that affect them, their peers and community. This forum allows the kids to make a difference and earn community service hours.
The event examined sexual assault and prevention awareness, team building and more. Deja Perez and Comedian Ty Davis tackled issues within the entertainment industry such as: integrity, commitment, communication, networking, and public relations. Both were transparent and vigilant about the seriousness of pursuing their dreams and what it takes to survive in the business. The youth asked questions to the panelists and participated in a roundtable discussion and photo opportunities.
